where on earth do you find all this great stuff?two more great bands i had no idea about and came to know thanks to this blog.Dark Quarterer are great but Black Hole are more up my alley.the keys add an extra air of creepiness and elevate the whole thing to a greater level.and on the subject of Italians,i've met and known plenty of them.how come none of those was even abit as crazy, eccentric and cool as all these musicians?where are they hiding?do they only come out at night?enough with my ranting.thank you very much once again.

Love that Wyxmer LP! I think yer write-up nailed an indisputable fact: The lack of an "embarrassment gene" in Italian musicians-- those crazy bastards have no shame whatsoever... and Satan bless 'em for it!

Yes, both of these albums get regular rotation at my house. Check out Wyxmer if you haven't already for more Italo-Metallo-Nutello.

All that talk about unholy winds and moldy eldrich houses was what sold me on the idea of passing some time with this (BH) recording - the vox on Demoniac City was the pay off - excellent!
I Will be back for a listen to Dark Quarterer later / tomorrow - enjoying Bh too much at the moment.
Thanks sir!

funny you mention Pagan Altar when talking about Black Hole... after the first pass, I'd say so far it reminds me more of 80s Pentagram, but with a far more psychedelic touch... either way though, great great stuff, I'm lovin it. thanks as usual

Never liked that "scene." On the surface those bands sounded great, but none of 'em had any songwriting chops, and the amount of verbatim-spewed MC5 riffs got old in a hurry. I noticed Nicke seems to suffer the same problem with his Death Breath project-- sure, it's cool that he's playing death metal again, but it sounds forced and insincere... oh well, guess I'm much more difficult to impress than I used to be.

welcome back Jake.Pentagram are great, one of those bands that should have been big if it wasn't for Bobby Leibling's self-destructive behaviour(but that's part of the charm,in a way). why are you so hard on the Hellacopters?i still think that their debut is great though they gradually went downhill from there(but you're definitely right,Nicke should go back to Entombed).anyway, once again, good to have you back

Pentagram = yes. Happy Tom from Turbonegro who sang about how they were responsible for that 1990s rock thing ("It took a while but now it's back") told me that "those lameass Swedish bands" were just another "Dictators revival" uuhhhh. Jeff Dahl is good when he gets all loud and snotty.
